Hi Guys!
My name is Mikayla Wecker... but my friends call me Mik! I don't have a preference, however if you're going to join me while I embark on this journey of expanding my wine knowledge, I feel as if we're close enough to where you can call me by my nick names.
I am a senior at the University of Oklahoma (boomer) and I turned 21 on April 16th, 2017 (FINALLY). I cannot lie, my appreciation for alcohol has been there for a while (shhhh), and I have come to prefer wine over almost every other drink, except maybe a lemon drop martini.
Some more ~cool and interesting~ things about me: I am from Coppell, Texas... which is a little suburb outside of Dallas. I am a die hard Texan, I won't deny it. I have the most incredible family in the world. My Mom, Tracey, is the most extraordinary woman I have ever known, my little sister, Kiley, is the most remarkable young woman on this earth (even though she is a Texas Longhorn), and my dad, Michel, whom is the most loving and giving man to exist. I am a Psychology major, with a minor in Communication and Health and Exercise Science.
With that being said, I have had the most exciting opportunity to take a class called "Geography of Wine" this semester. Can I just say how freaking awesome that is, I seriously cannot contain my excitement. While I love a good (but cheap) red wine, this is my attempt to culture myself, and further my knowledge of wine, because I believe it will be valuable knowledge to have for my future. While it will be valuable knowledge for my professional life, since I would like to work in sales, but also for my personal knowledge, due to the fact I currently know nothing about wine, other than there's red, white, and pink.
That's it for now! I would love for you to keep up with my blog, there's a lot of goodies in store :)
